Changes to the leave entitlements of civil servants have been approved to be made effective as from 1 January, 2010. Line ministries are given a two (2) year transition period between 1 July, 2009 to 30 June, 2011 to clear outstanding leave from the current leave scheme. The new leave scheme is as follows;

The two leaves from the old scheme which is not affected is Casual Leave of 7 days and Study Leave which is under the discretion of the respective Head of Department.
